Airbar

In todays start up feature series, we are featuring Airbar.

AirbarTouchscreen is the most widely used input technology after keyboard and mouse. The good thing about it is, its not just typing, touchscreen opened up a new world of interactive displays powered by gestures. Desktop monitors, laptops, netbooks, calculators, medical devices, the list goes on and on where the touchscreen technology actually revolutionized how we interact with displays.

But what if you would like to use the features of a touchscreen on a display which doesn’t have this feature built in, say an old PC of yours. Up until now, you would have to go through all the troubles of installing a new display to get the same features. But thats not really budget friendly and may not give you the best experience at all. Now this is where Airbar comes into play.

What is Airbar:

Airbar on a Laptop

Airbar is a device which can be attached to any displays to add the touchscreen functionality onto it. As the name suggests, it is just a bar which can be fixed on the bottom part of the display and you can start using the touch features of the native OS of the device. For now this works flawlessly on Windows 8 – Windows 10 according to the developers. MAC and other operating systems are unsupported at the moment.

AirBar projects an invisible light field on the surface of your display that makes it possible to “touch” the screen and interact with Windows® 8 and 10 gestures.

You can pinch, swipe, zoom and scroll without a touchscreen if you use this device. And thats not all. Watch the video below to learn more about it.
